Quick answer

Botox in Korea is a 10 to 30 minute clinic visit with no downtime, so 1 to 2 days in Seoul is enough. Ask which brand the clinic uses and how many units go into each area, avoid lying down or massaging the face for about 4 hours afterwards, and expect the effect to show within roughly 3 to 7 days. Prices are set by each clinic and confirmed before the injection.

Botox in Korea is one of the easiest treatments to fit into a trip: no stitches, no recovery stay, and most clinics in Gangnam and Myeongdong take walk-in style appointments once you have a booking. This guide covers what our English-speaking guests ask before they book, as of November 2026.

How long does a Botox visit take in Seoul?

A Botox visit in a Seoul clinic usually takes about an hour from the front desk to the door. The injection is 10 to 30 minutes; the rest is registration, a short consultation and, if you want it, numbing cream.

StepTypical time
Registration and passport check10 minutes
Consultation with the doctor5 to 15 minutes
Numbing cream (optional)20 to 30 minutes
Injection10 to 30 minutes
Payment and aftercare sheet5 minutes

Because there is no downtime, 1 to 2 days in Seoul is enough. Many guests book Botox on the last afternoon and fly the next day.

What should I ask before the injection?

Ask three things and write the answers down: the brand, the number of units, and the areas. Two quotes for "jaw Botox" can mean different products and different doses, and that is where most of the price difference comes from.

  • Which product is it, and is it named on the consent form?
  • How many units go into each area?
  • Is a follow-up check included if one side looks uneven?
  • Is VAT included in the quote?

Clinics in Korea that treat foreign patients are registered with the government. If you want to check one, our guide on how to check a clinic's license walks through it.

Which areas do foreigners book most?

Forehead and frown lines, jaw (masseter) slimming, and the "skin Botox" that clinics market for fine lines and pores are the three requests we see most. Each works differently:

AreaWhat it is forHow long it usually lasts
Forehead and frown linesMovement linesAbout 3 to 4 months
Jaw (masseter)A slimmer lower face over a few weeksAbout 4 to 6 months
Skin BotoxFine lines, oil, pore lookVaries by clinic method

What should I avoid after Botox?

For about 4 hours, stay upright and do not press or massage the treated area. On the day itself, skip saunas, jjimjilbang and hard workouts. These are the instructions Korean clinics hand out on the aftercare sheet; follow the one you receive, because doctors differ slightly.

TipBook Botox after a facial or a laser, not before, if you are doing both on one trip. Clinics usually prefer that order on the same day.

Clinics our guests often book

These clinics in Gangnam and Myeongdong see many foreign visitors. KBW partner clinics give our guests a free consultation, and we confirm the brand and units in writing before you go.

Where should I stay for a short Botox trip?

Myeongdong is the practical base for a short trip: it is two stops from Seoul Station on Line 4, the airport train arrives at Seoul Station, and clinics, Olive Young and street food are within walking distance.

If you are pairing Botox with surgery, read our Korean plastic surgery guide first, because surgery decides where and how long you stay.

Questions people ask

Is Botox cheaper in Korea?+

Often, yes, but quotes are not comparable until you know the brand, the number of units and the areas. Ask for all three in writing. Each clinic sets its own price and confirms it before the injection.

How long does Botox take in a Korean clinic?+

The injection itself takes 10 to 30 minutes. With registration, consultation and numbing cream, plan about 1 to 1.5 hours at the clinic.

Can I fly after Botox?+

Most clinics say flying the next day is fine. Avoid pressing or massaging the face, saunas and heavy exercise on the day itself. Your doctor gives the final instructions.

Which Botox brands do Korean clinics use?+

Clinics name the product on the consent form. You will hear Korean brands and imported ones such as Botox (Allergan) or Xeomin. Ask which one is in your quote, because the brand changes the price.

Do clinics in Seoul speak English?+

Clinics that see many foreign patients have English-speaking coordinators. If you book through KBW, we handle the messages in English and talk to the clinic in Korean.
